Omega "Seamaster Cosmic" Gold Plated Cal. 565 Automatic Winding - 1967-70

Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 mens watch Automatic Movement , calendar date, case in Yellow gold over Stainless Steel width 36mm  24 jewels. The bracelet is gold plated stainless steel with the Omega clasp.
The near perfect dial is champagne with gold and black hour markers. Slim sword hands with Tritium infill complete with a tapered sweeping center seconds hand. At 12 o’clock the applied Omega “Automatic”, at 6 o’clock The watch has been tested over seven days, and is in full working order, excellnt mechanical condition ith a very long power reserve.
The Seamaster Cosmic was introduced in 1967, jumping on the hype for space travel and everything space-related. The continued relationship with NASA only strengthened Omega’s position, as the preferred manufacturer. It generated new life into the Seamaster range. The production run was for less than a decade. This Omega Seamaster Cosmic Date 166.023 has a monocoque case design, made from a solid piece of stainless steel, access to the movement is by removing the crystal with a special tool. The curve of the case ends at stubby lugs. A flat back and angled sides make the watch comfortable to wear. On the right side is a signed crown. The case holds the domed crystal.   On the reverse, you can just see the Hippocampus is etched onto the surface.
